PPA’s social responsibility is best achieved by adhering to our core values, whilst continuing to follow our vision in all aspects of our business. We take great pride in maintaining a strong involvement with our local community, as well as the continued support of various charities and associations throughout Victoria.
Our staff undertake numerous community and charity activities on their own accord, but we also manage to continually partake in many programs together, which allows for strong engagement amongst the workforce, whilst also helping out a worthy cause.
Listed below are the current charities and community programs that PPA and our staff are associated with.
Rotary Club of Brunswick
PPA’s affiliation with the Rotary Club of Brunswick has been a long standing one, which has largely been headed by our Managing Director, Cheryle Landolina, who is currently the Vice President. The Brunswick Rotary Club is built with the support of its members, who generally either work and or live in the Brunswick area. Their ongoing contribution allows the club to continue to support local community projects, assist particular individuals in need of urgent assistance, as well as providing funds for numerous overseas projects in developing countries.
This club continues to survive on the back of its many social and fundraising activities throughout the year, which has been ably backed by a loyal group of members, most notably through, Cheryle Landolina. Cheryle has been a member of the club since 2003, and throughout this period she has served as the Treasurer, President and is now currently serving as the Vice President. This continued support saw Cheryle head to Bagong Barrio in Manilla in 2008, whereby through extensive fundraising activities, the club has managed to develop a much needed health centre, as well as providing a water filtration system for the local school and also providing a bus for the local community.
Some of the recent major donations that have been made by the Brunswick Rotary Club include the following:
- Donated $5,000 to assist Auckland, New Zealand after the earthquake in early 2011
- Provided $20,000 to the YMCA project at bushfire affected Marysville in 2009
- During 2008 the club raised $13,000 for the community Bagong Barrio, Manilla
- In 2007 the club provided $10,000 for the repair of tractors, which assisted over 400 families in East Timor
- Donated $10,000 to the Tsunami appeal in 2004-05
